Intermediate stops added along the routes of free trains of FIFA World Cup Russia 2018
Intermediate stops have been added to the schedule of about 500 additional trains of FIFA World Cup 2018, so free tickets from/to the relevant cities may be issued. Booking service is available at the Transport Directorate-2018 website tickets.transport2018.com. For example, 4 intermediate stops have been added along the St Petersburg – Adler route: Tver, Rostov-Glavny, Krasnodar 1 and Tuapse, and 3 intermediate stops have been added along the Moscow — Yekaterinburg route: Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and Vladimir.
“We received numerous requests from the fans to add intermediate stops along the routes of additional trains. In cooperation with our colleagues from Russian Railways JSC, we worked hard and tried to meet the passengers needs, so now booking service from the intermediate stops, including Vladimir, Nizhny Novgorod, Tver, Krasnodar, etc, is available”, comments Kirill Polyakov, General Director of ANO “Transport Directorate of FIFA World Cup Russia 2018”.
In total, 11 intermediate stops for 495 additional trains have been added: Moscow-Kurskaya, Tuapse-Passazhirskaya, Krasnodar 1, Rostov-Glavny, Tver, Vladimir, Kazan-2 (Vosstanie), Ruzaevka, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod-Moskovsky, Saratov 1 Passazhirsky.
Just as a reminder, ANO “Transport Directorate of FIFA World Cup Russia 2018” entered into a rolling stock lease contract with Russian Railways JSC. Funds for the rolling stock lease were allocated from the federal budget by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation as part of the federal program of Transport System Development approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1596 dated December 20, 2017, for the purpose of implementation of the Government guarantee aimed to provide free of charge transportation for the forthcoming World Cup fans.
728 additional trains with a total capacity of 440,650 berths have been leased. By now, 50% of them have been already booked. It is planned to use up-to-date, comfortable rolling stock comprising single-decker and double-decker carriages, Lastochka electric trains and Strizh high-speed trains. Lastochka and Strizh trains will provide free of charge transportation for fans along the Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod route.
