Objectives and Tasks — Transport service of FIFA 2018 World Cup Russia

Autonomous nonprofit-organization Transport Directorate of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia was established in September 2014 in accordance with the Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation.. The founders of the Transport Directorate of 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia are the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation (on behalf of the Russian Federation) and Autonomous nonprofit-organization Organizing Committee Russia-2018.

Terentii Meshcheriakov chaired the Transport Directorate of 2018 FIFA World Cup in April 2015.

 

An important objective of the organization is to create a qualitatively new transport environment in the Russian regions, to provide a comfortable, fast and safe transportation between the cities by means of innovative technologies:

  • Coordination, preparation and implementation of measures to ensure the quality of passenger transportation during the World Cup FIFA 2018 in Russia, the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 and the Universiade-2019;
  • Development of transportation planning documents at the federal level;
  • Monitoring the progress of transport preparations for the World Cup FIFA 2018 in Russia, which is regulated by the federal and regional preparation programs.

The highest governance body of the Transport Directorate-2018 is Supervisory Board.
